Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information
University Faculty

Every year, NTU's Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) aims to capture the hearts of prospective students with insurmountable talents and passion for joining the vast media industry in Singapore. This year, the school hoped to go above and beyond in sharing the exciting and unpredictable story of its WeeKids with its prospective students.

Thus, birthed the concept of exploring your "Unlimited Possibilities" at WKWSCI. In line with trendy blind boxes and board games amongst youths today, a WeeKid's 4 years in WKWSCI was visualised as a board game roadmap, with various "Chance" blindboxes to allow students to collect skills that would power up their experience as a creative in the media industry today.

The board game was adapted to various digital assets, and even printed as a proper board game to be played within our 9:16 content pieces.

A series of mascots was also created to represent each creative specialisation offered within WKWSCI. Mascots could don the power up accessories found in Chance blindboxes as well!

p.s. I made these little mascot figurines to be used for our video productions too!

Open House Film Cast with their respective Specialisation Mascots

this was the best last campaign experience in WKWSCI I could've ever asked for :-)

(this is an ongoing project, come back next time to see the finished product!)

The experiences of a WeeKid are pretty unique to our school. With such a strong school culture and community, we share many cool experiences such as making a short film as part of our Freshman Orientation or even joining a WeeCan activity (such as WeeNails or FrisWee). Thus, crafting these special experiences for the board game was very meaningful to the whole team — it was fun recollecting all my different WeeKid moments from my 4 years in WKWSCI.

Given the tight timeline of this project, we didn't have much time to strategise. Fortunately, the brief came in mid-december (winter break), so we were able to focus all our time and effort during that break into creating a good direction for the Open House. The stress of the situation actually helped the Open House team bond quite a lot, which then improved our communication and understanding of each others' needs.
